I read that the Apple A4 processor is based on an ARM design, so would that mean that Windows 8 would work on it? I guess it would need to be jailbroken and force on to the iPad, but if the hardware is compatible then someone would be able to get it working?

The A4 (iPad) and A5 (iPad 2) are both ARM-based, however I don't think the iPad would have the capability to run Windows 8 - even if the other technical hurdles could be overcome. The iPad 2 only has 512MB ram (IIRC) and storage space is limited. That said, it's easy to "use" Windows 8 on the iPad if you are using some remote virtualisation or RDP/VNC.

Some of the iPad clones and competitors will no doubt be able to run Windows 8 :).

Thank you. It may be that I just get a Windows 8 tablet PC instead, no point in going for a hybrid I guess!
