    Notice anything different ;)

I've performed a forum upgrade to Windows 8 Forums... and there's plenty more to come in the following days! :D

We've running on XenForo 1.0.0 - so there will be lots of forum features added in the coming months, but there are lots of new things already - such as a much more detailed notificiations system.

The forum design will be changing, new forums added and plenty more Windows 8 news. If you've got any ideas, please do let me know - nows the time

Ian, it's looking good so far. I like the larger default fonts and the "wide open" look.

I'm sure as the weeks continue that there will be tweaks and such, so I'll stay in touch here more often.

Ian, it's looking great! It's easier to read, especially for those of us with who needs glasses to read. Plus the new look, I like it.
Hopefully in the future, you'll do the same at Win 7 Forums.
BTW, you run the best computing forums on the web.

    Nice work Ian!
The "Whats New" replaces "New Posts"?

I'm really glad you guys like it :). Now that Windows 8 is starting to get more attention, it seemed like a good time to start work on the new site.
I'm in the same boat, as the forum software is quite unfamiliar to me - but it's growing on me :). The old vB 3.8 software has received the final end-of-life update a few weeks ago and the v4 replacement doesn't seem anywhere near as good. So instead of continuing with the older software on forums which will only start to become very active in another year or so, I made the switch to an alternative. XenForo is developed by the same people that made vB 3.8 (they set up a new company after vBulletin was sold), but the development is heading in the right direction. As time goes on there will no doubt be some huge improvements to the forum software, so I expect by the time Windows 8 is released that we'll have a much more polished forum.

Yep, as far as I can see that's the replacment and it should show any new content since the last visit. :)

I should also mention that the design of the site will change once we get an idea of what Windows 8 will look like - the current theme is only a basic modification of the default one.

It's very fast loading. I like the little tabs on the right of each post that say new if it's an unread post.

Pretty nice Ian. Quite different from any forum I've seen.

I've been watching the new code addons at the official forum software site and there are some fantastic modifications coming out :D. I can't wait to get started on the new design and coding new features :).

It looks like XenForo 1.1 is going to be out in the next month or so, which will mean that the system specs option and other handy things will start to appear. I'm also going to design a custom Windows 8 skin and start posting more news, so keep your eyes peeled :)

Version 1.1 isn't quite out yet, but I've rolled out the new template theme and added lots of new sections. As soon as the forum upgrade is available, I'll get the system specs and other handy addons launched - it looks like it's only a matter of days away :).

This is really nice for a forum. I enjoy XenForo a lot, it's in my opinion, one of the most elegant forum software out there.
