What do you guys know about the fast boot option that is compatible with Windows 8? I saw it while messing around in my computers EFI settings page and was wondering what it does and why it is not compatible with other operating systems.

    Thanks

UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is new and is a replacement for BIOS (Basic Input Output System). As far as I know, it is only compatible with Windows 8 and a few others. Check out this link here.

UEFI BIOS's are so much nicer to use than the standard BIOS. I don't know how much faster the fast boot will be, but it's nice to see advances.
