Windows 8 Consumer Preview Expiry Date

    After installing the beta win 8, will this become inoperable at some date? Will we then be required to buy the commercial version?

    The consumer preview will expire on 16th January 2013 - which should be a few months after the release date.

    So it sounds like unless I'm going to spring for the full ver after that date, I shouldn't install...

    Yep - I'd only recommend using this version for testing at the moment, as it's a one way ticket if you use this for your main OS and don't move to the final version.

    Kinda thunk that's what would happen. I'll keep my eye on ye ole forums to see how things go with 8. 7 has been very stable for me on 2 puters so not all that anxious to dive into a new Windows...actually, I was thinking of rolling back to 95 ;-)
