It's a prerelease version and it's available since yesterday. Here is the source and here is the download link.

I have installed the Technet download. But I checked your post and it seems it may be a little premature?

    It pops up with this
"ISO files are not yet available
You can install Windows 8.1 Preview through the Windows Store or by using ISO files. Windows 8.1 Preview ISO files will be made available on this site within the next day, so please check back"

I think I will wait until the official release to download the update. Microsoft has a way of releasing buggy updates that are not quite ready yet.

That is why it is an early beta release for public exposure.

Generally the early releases are pretty good IMO.

I prefer to wait for the official build because I am not confident enough that I will not mess up my laptop because I tend to be careless sometimes. Nevertheless, I have heard so many good things regarding the update so I can't wait for it to be released! Good job, Microsoft. PS: On second thought, the preview is very tempting. Should I download it?
