Well this is an interesting development, it looks like Microsoft may be considering releasing a free version of Windows 8.1, in return for having Bing powered apps built-in. Here's a little more from "The Verge":

.......Microsoft is aiming to position Windows 8.1 with Bing as a free or low-cost upgrade for Windows 7 users........

Does that not telling the world that 8.1 is a bust, at least on sales chart ?

Windows 8.1 Update, then Threshold, then Win 9, and now Win 8.1+Bing.
MS is lacking stewardship. No direction and no clear mandate. Bunch of chicken running with heads chopped off.
    Sad.

Woah! This isn't seen very often, I guess things didn't go as expected with this OS. I truly hope that Windows 9 is a reality and it has a similar GUI to the one seen in Windows 7. I can only hope! By the way, is Windows 9 a reality already or just a myth?
