Why does IE 10 open via the desktop?

    Not sure if a fix.
    But why when I open IE 10 or Fire Fox (not sure yet if other apps do this) within the Start Screen that I see the Desktop screen and then IE (or FF) appears?
    Should not IE 10 open right away and with out the Desktop ?

    Well seems I have the Desktop UI version for IE.
    So - when during the install did not the Modern UI version get installed? &
    where is the Modern UI version? I went to the App store & found no APP for IE 10 ?
