For those diehard MS Windows techie uber geeks go to the URL below to get info and a link to sign up for the
    "Technical Preview" of Windows 10

It's not for the faint of heart, be sure to run it on a secondary PC or a separate HD or SSD. I would also suggest to
not install any additional software, just check it out and test it. Give feedback also. You must sign up to receive it
    and get frequent updates.

Bassfisher, I hope it's somebody at Microsoft wanting to get further away from Win 8.

You might also check on Ian's post HERE. He has rebranded the Windows 9 site to Windows 10 to keep up with the announced change.

After all the hoopla, I'v seen, read all the MS releases about 10.....and guess you're right about separating itself from Windows 8 with the new Windows 10.

As it is, there will always be haters to something new. I found 8/8.1 to be very good OS and not had one problem with that OS. Loved it even though I don't have a touch screen. I don't use the start screen but just the desktop environment with no 3rd party start software. Although I did use Classic Shell and Start8 for awhile...and preferred Start8 over Classic Shell but went back to the windows 8.1 start screen.

Now I've just downloaded the 10 Tech Preview and getting ready to triple boot with 7/8.1/10, so I can try the 10 Preview.

I am a happy untroubled Windows 8 user also. I have one computer with a touchscreen, which I confess I rarely use - the touchscreen, that is. I still prefer my lifelong habit of mouse and keyboard and, frankly, find it quicker and more convenient.
I guess this is not the forum to discuss Windows 10 but, briefly, I have had it up and running for some days now and am not, at this stage, overexcited. I am an enthusiastic supporter of Microsoft products, but am still waiting to see how this one progresses. So far, I have a choice in the future. 1. Change to Windows X, just for the hack of it or, 2. Carry on using my Windows 8 installations., with which I am now familiar.
