I have a strange problem in Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center x64. The Music folder show's all generic icons for each folder in it. The Pictures folder show 7/8 of the folder's with the generic looking icon and the other 1/8 normally. The Videos folder shows them all correctly. Here's 3 screenshots of what each looks like. How do I get all of them to display properly, like the Videos folder does ?

    Suggestions :

    1. Go to Charm bar (Win logo + C ) > select Start > type folder options > click it > select View at the top >
is the first box " always show icons never thumbnails ' checked?
If yes Un-check it > Ok when done.

    2. Rebuild icon cache

    Use Option One.

    3rd possible solution.
If this problem is recent, and if you remember a good date when you did NOT have this issue, do a system restore.
Pick that good date as your restore point.

Go to Charm bar > select Start > type recovery > click Recover > click Open System Restore.....

In Folder Options it was already unchecked. The icons needed to be rebuilt. Step one of that tutorial works in 8.1, so it probably work in 8,too.

If it works on Win 8.1, it will work on Win 8. There is no doubt on that.
