If you google Windows 8 Forums, or any other way, you can't find this forum listed.
Only way I can find this site is by entering win8forums.com

I would suggest a change of the website address so that people can easily find it and thereby increase your membership.

    Thank you.

    You misunderstand my intention.

My suggestion is meant for people who are searching for a Windows forum for their computer questions.
Making this forum site easy to find will increase membership.

You are correct, David. I have tried it before. On reading this thread, I googled "windows 8 forums". I found three, belong to all, but this one wasn't even in the first five pages.

There are others. It is obviously very much in the web title. I belong to one of the oldest on the web. It covers every OS, and even includes Linux. It has several thousand members, and is very active 24 /7, but, as the name does not indicate "Windows ", it, also, does not pop up in a search.

Maybe you're using the wrong search engine.

    I see. Thank you.
    I don't use Bing.
Google.ca is my only default home age, and google is my only search engine.
I have been using Google for 5 years now. No intention to switch.

Suit yourself but I would think that if you're not getting the results you want or expect from the search engine you are currently using then perhaps an alternative might be a sensible choice.
I use Google, and Bing and Dogpile and Duck Duck Go keeps things interesting to compare the results.

    @ Trouble,
Please go back to the webpage shown in your screenshot.
Tell me which one belongs to this forum.

I used Bing to verify what you told me. I could not find this forum.

OK.... who knows, maybe it has something to do with Geography or something. I tried the Bing Search using five different browsers (Opera, Safari, Chrome, IE 11, and Firefox) three of which I know I have never used Bing in and never searched for "Windows 8 forums" just to make sure there was nothing cached and every time it was the same.

With both laptops, this forum can be found on 2nd page using.....
    IE 11, and 10
    Firefox
    Google Chrome
    Bing

Interesting now. I have just used google as default, Changed to Bing. I thought it was to straightforward searching for "forums" so I tried "Windows 8 help". Thought this could be what newbies would try. I got precisely the same results with both search engines. Oddly, there was only on forum under a name with Windows 8, on the first page, although the others listed did offer help of different kinds.

The point being, if a business is not listed on the first "advertising" page, it misses out a lot of potential customers.
Notice who is always at or near the top of the list?

To have one's business listed on a search engine in the top 10 requires that business to pay for that service.

    Takes money to make money.

Need more, many more, people to know of Win8forums.com existence.
More people coming to ask questions, more diversified the spectrum.
That will attract more computer savvy people registering to offer help.
That will attract more people asking for help.
    Snowball effect.

I have another webpage. It has no association with computer technology. some months after I built it, on advice I registered it with google and Bing. This is a standard procedure and is free. I did notice a small increase in hits after that.
I was later introduced to "Meta tags" which helped..
One big "Trick", is to have a top banner, with a freebie. You need permission for some, which is readily forthcoming. For example, if, at the top of the page, EasyBcd was advertised, it would net in others, who are looking for specific software.

But the lasting feature, to improve traffic, is popularity. The more a site is used, the more it attracts "hits".
Now, This is not a boast, but a fact. If you have, on the site, users who are fairly well spread around the web, such as davehc (lol) or "Trouble", the this can also generate traffic.
The process needs time. This forum is slowly increasing in traffic, and, possibly, may never soar to great heights, but it needs the chance.
IN contrast, another Windows 8 forum to which I belong, has just changed its template and format drastically. It has take a huge blow and reduction since then on daily online membership. This seems to have gone from many dozens, daily, the less than 10! This is outstanding, but there is WIP, so maybe some ideas will be coming forth there.

A very popular site. This site has always been popular, but, it is interesting to note that it has increased its membershipo significantly over the past few weeks, and is keeping the old well known template.

There are currently 2886 users online. 90 members and 2796 guests
124 posts in the last 24 hours.

And the "oldest site" to which I referred.

Currently Active Users: 1745 (29 members and 1716 guests)
182 posts in the last 24 hours.

It really boils down to "human nature".
When people are searching for a forum to solve their computer problems, how many will....
    1. pick the one at the top of the list and stop searching?
    2. continue searching from next few pages?

That is why, at least partially why, z3r010's forum is so popular.
Of course, having you as member makes a difference....... not.
    ha ha ha ha.
