Headphone jack stopped working yesterday. I uninstalled the driver, following directions I found online, then restarted computer, thinking that the driver would re-install when I rebooted the computer. The "device" choices did show "headphones" for a while but showed "disconnected." When I right-clicked and then clicked "connect" (about 40 times), it never connected. Now the "headphones" icon does not appear at all. I can't re-install driver because it does not show anywhere that it was uninstalled.

Regular speakers on computer are working fine. Please offer suggestions, I have tried every recommendation that I have seen online, most having to do with bluetooth headphones. These are old-fashioned plug-in headphones that work fine when plugged into other devices.
