    Hello all,

I work in a school with many pcs. One of the students who left last year has a startup password that blocks entry. How can I get past it? I can't reformat because I can't get into the settings (boot from a usb drive).

    Need help

    thanks

    Tim

Open the box and reset the BIOS. That's all I can offer because you haven't told us the hardware.

I dont think it would be appropriate to give any further advice than that received, as, without further facts, it could easily be an infringement of security. Perhaps, if you keep such records, you could pick up a phone and ask the ex pupil for his password?
