Many people complain to MS and ask to add a way to close metro apps. Or they suggest to use task manager to kill them.
Meanwhile there is simple "official" way to close metro apps - using panel of running apps at left side of screen.

To show it you need to do:
    - Move mouse to the top left corner of screen. It will bring button with last seen app.
    - Nov move mouse down past this button and running apps panel will be shown.

Now you have all running metro apps listed in one panel (plus one button for desktop and its old style applications).

Right click on app you need to close and you will see menu with "close" on it.
    That is it!

Btw, you can bring panel of running apps staring from bottom-left corner (that shows "start" menu) and moving mouse up.

    P.S.
The limitation: you can see metro app only when it is not shown on main screen...

To close apps running in full screen:
    • Move mouse cursor to the top of screen till cursor change to hand symbol.
    • Drag app to the bottom of screen.
