Reaching a personal end point with gaming
Hi friendly RPS folks. I recently turned 30 and my passion for gaming hasn't been quelled. In fact there is a whole slew of games I want to play that I don't have as much time or budget for as I would like.

The thing is, I have a five year old machine that has been a trooper. I want to get a new machine to play cool stuff like XCOM2, Doom and Witcher 3 but my financial situation could be better. Is anyone else reaching a point where they feel like they should stop playing games? I've worked incredibly hard over the last few years but unfortunately life has dealt a few bum hands and things haven't come together. I'm studying a part-time MA in Technical Communications and E-Learning on top of my deadline-crazy full-time work to try and shift industries. I can't justify spending the bones of €1,000 euro on a new gaming machine despite needing something for project work. MA fees, general expenses and wanting to actually be able to buy an engagement ring or start a pension plan in the near future are making me realise my time may be up. I don't spend a lot on it but the prospect of forking out for a new machine, even a budget one, is making me think twice.

I don't have a family myself, but I'm assuming that there are lots of fathers/mothers on here that may be in a similar position. Anyone else hitting a point where you think your gaming hobby may just end up with reading RPS, watching YouTube videos and popping back to Diablo 2 every now and then?
