    More like, slightly embarrassed.
I noticed another post on the forum with a user who's "libraries" were "unavailable". Which while not particularly funny for that user, still made me chuckle, as I had only just discovered this http://www.loc.gov/home2/shutdown-message.html

It would seem my entire Library of Congress is unavailable. :)
    Along with these
    http://www.fcc.gov/shutdown-page.html
    http://notice.usa.gov/
    http://www.nsf.gov/outage.html
and likely a bunch more that I don't visit very often an am unaware of.

Just a little dark humor in the face of our exasperating "politics as usual" here at home.

Politics as usual in many places, I'm afraid, Trouble. As someone said. Shoot the politicians and accountants and things would return to normal.

I read a article about our government's issue's the other day before the shutdown happened. The New York Times stated that the issue is that the Republican's don't want to pay for their own health insurance, so our citizen's that can't afford insurance can get cheap healthcare insurance. If it's true, they need to find a new line of work. I can believe that, by personal experience for over 30 year's on healthcare issue's regarding the republican's. I was prescribed a medically necessary device by my physician. Medicare approved it, then as soon as I had the device Medicare yanked the approval due to the Republican party. The appeal process for medicare, is done over the phone, instead of in a court room. All the judge, stated, even though I had legimate proof the device was medically necessary and had a medical professiional certified diabetes educatore on a line with the judge during the appeal. All the judge did was deny my appeal, due to b.s. the republican's put in effect during post Clinton/pre Obama time's. Hope you don't have type 1 diabetes and wind up on medicare. It's fully setup for type 2 diabetes. If you're a type 1 diabetic, you're screwed. I wonder how many other medical condition's are in the same boat.
