The SSD on which I had installed several programs (MSOffice, Quicken, etc.) became disconnected when I moved my computer. When I reconnected the SSD and rebooted, I noticed the programs on the SSD did not show up on the Metro start screen or the desktop. They were present on the SSD.

what can id do to get my programs back?

First question.... Is you Operating System on the same or a different drive?
Second question.... Did the drive letter of the SSD change when you reconnected it?
Third question.... Did you try browsing to the individual executables and attempt to repin them to the Start Screen?
