After buying a new copy of 8.1 it tells me now I must put in a password that have not the slightest idea what they are talking about. I never set up any password. Also, to reset the password I need a floppy disc drive-I haven't had a floppy drive in over 10 years-they have got to be kidding?

Getting help from Microsoft is simply impossible because they pull the same nonsense about a password and I don't want to call someone on the damn phone.

I was going to put the install disc but though I would ask someone first. The install took over 2 hours.

With windows 8/8.1, to take full advantage of the OS, MS in there infinite wisdom decided that you need to create a MS account to log in with. It's easy and painless, if you don't have one select create one and follow the onscreen prompts. Other wise you can just use a local account (no email address/password) but you cant use a lot of the features. In particular the apps.
