    1. How to I reset Indexing Options to the default values?

    2. Are all libraries indexed by default, or just the "default" libraries?

    3. I was considering creating libraries for some of my disk drives in order to have everything in file history.
Good idea or bad idea? Would that result in those drives being included in indexing?

Windows 8 indexes libraries by default,
If you open the indexing, from the control panel, and select modify, you can include/exclude, anything on your computer. All you need to do is enter your choices in the Search dialog box.
Don't forget, when finished, to rebuild the index (Advanced options.)
Personally, regarding your third query, I have gone the other way. Indexing can sometimes be a nuisance, so I have eliminated all the pahs which I feel are not important in a search.
