I lost the ability to turn off the touch pad upgrading my Satellite L555 from Win7 to Win8. I've been all through the computer and the internet to uncover some solution. Toshiba hasn't addressed it nor MS. The control panel mouse details doesn't even list a touch pad. I've downloaded a driver from Toshiba for synaptic device, but Win8 won't run it after extraction. I've tried tapping it in various spots to no avail. I've tried using Fn key + f- and again to no avail. This is very frustrating because the touch pad is a huge interference to fast typing. Anyone have any ideas?...my laptop with Win8 isn't very useful with the super sensitive touch pad.
