Hi there, I bought new PC - ASUS Intel core i7 CM series with Win 8. How do I get rid of all "garbage" in Win8? Just reload it? Still not hooked up, waiting to learn more )
    Thanks

If you buy a PC from an electronics store, it's going to have a bunch of trials and OEM crap in it. Doesn't have anything to do with Windows 8 specifically. You can right-click on the bottom left edge and select Control Panel, and Programs, and uninstall the stuff you don't want.

There's also a handy program called: PC Decrappifier. It's a standalone program and will remove all the crapware that you choose to uninstall.

I have a related question to this.

I sometimes used programs like WinTools, CCleaner and Auslogics Defrag. I am reluctant to use them in Windows 8 because of the file system differences. Will these work fine or would you wait until there are official releases for 8?

There's no need to defrag, Windows does it quite well automatically ever since 7, maybe Vista. CCleaner has been working fine, although any tools that prick and probe system files is one I would be hesitant to use excessively.
