How do I get update to go beyond 13%

    When I turn on my laptop, it automatically begins to update. But the update stops at 13%. It has been doing this for hours and hours. I turn it off, I took out the battery, I hit every key known to man....it won't let me in to my desktop to access any of my files. MADDENING!!!

    I was having the same problem a few days ago. once I decided not to keep any of my files it started to work properly.
