Occasionally when I start my pc running Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center a HomeGroup icon appears on the desktop. As soon as I run Disk Cleanup as administrator, it goes away. I've scanned for malware with Bitdefender Internet Security 2014, SUPERAntiSpyware Professional (real-time disabled) and Malwarebytes free, no malware on pc. Not even during full scan's in safe mode. Is this another 8.1 bug ?

A reboot will get rid of the icon.

And Windows 8.1 bugs keep surfacing...

I don't see like wanting to upgrade Windows 8 until no more issues like this come up.

Could you detail the bugs you are experiencing? Perhaps there could be some help available here.
fwiw, I haven't had any that I would consider serious.

Personally, I have not let my computer go for 8.1 yet. All I have been hearing is complaints. One of my friends was freaking out because she couldn't figure out to make it go back to the way it was. I am very happy with windows 8 but I don't think I will let it upgrade until everything is fixed. My computer is new and I use it for class so I really don't want any surprises while I'm out.

You'll eventually have to get it.
