    Great post Core!

I quit using email software apps a long time ago due to their vulnerability to viruses, trojans, etc.

I always use the browser to access my email. Most security experts recommend the same too.

I know my F-Secure Internet Security has a feature for email apps though.

I don't like webmail interfaces. I prefer a real desktop client, particularly one that has calendar and contacts with sync functionality. I use Google Apps Business so this change on Google's part doesn't really affect me personally, but if they don't get off their asses and fix Google Sync for Outlook 2013 then I may have to consider Microsoft's offering, much as I really don't want to. Or just use Thunderbird.

I can't stand desktop email clients. I have X-Notifier and Google Chrome. I'm not so concerned about security as much as you guys probably are. Besides, I don't think any security fatigue has caused me any problems.. yet.

This sucks. I really liked the Windows 8 calendar and mail apps for quickly checking email and events. Postbox is a great paid mail client though, so I guess it's not that bad.

Postbox isn't bad, and I gave the trial a shot, but it wasn't for me. It's just a Thunderbird fork with a smoother theme and less add-on compatibility (not even an Evernote plugin unless you use a Mac, c'mon).

I am really not happy about this, one of my favourite features in Windows 8 is the way everything is integrated, email, facebook, twitter etc. This is a real dissapointment. :/ I wonder if you will still be able to sync the calendar entries any other way.
