I used the app mode of Google Chrome. It works amazing!

I could literally refer to the web page in snapped view:) and do my work.

But, initially finding the start button at the right side of the screen was little weird!
How much time did it take for you all to get used to the new interface?

On top of that, do you really think people are turned down because of this particular feature of Windows 8?

I honestly don't like the apps that much. I tried using them but converted back to basic desktop downloads.
I rarely use apps. I only have Windows 8 on my laptop. I use it for papers and forums.
My desktop still has and will remain having Windows 7.

I rarely use the Windows Store apps either... the Skype Metro UI version was absolutely horrible. Luckily, I could still obtain the desktop verison of Skype.

I would definitely have to agree. I messed with the Skype app for the first night I got my laptop... it was absolutely awful. I hated it.
I went back to the site to download the desktop version. I was so glad it was compatible.

I use more Desktop apps, they are not excessively simple as Metro ones.

I will open a topic regarding which metro apps we have.
