I purchased this new computer in March. Windows 8 was a challenge but I finally got it to connect to my old HP plotter. When I upgraded to 8.1, my music app keeps crashing and there is no way to resurrect the connection to the plotter. This morning I was going to try to add the music feature back in but I get a message that my product key is invalid. WTH! I am so frustrated. Can anyone give me a solution to at least one of the problems listed above. The plotter is an HP DesignJet 750C and, yes, I have crawled through every tute I could find, searching for a work-around. Maybe I missed something. Thanks.

    Welcome to the Win8Forums.

Do you have all the Windows updates installed?
Is Windows asking for a re-validation in Control Panel -> System and Security -> System

Yes, all updates installed. Including the 5/1/14 update for the Xbox music. No, I have not been asked to revalidate.

App updates are separate from the standard MS system updates. For the system updates go to control panel, system/security, windows update, then select "check for updates" from the left pane.

For app updates, open up the store app, open charms bar, select the settings (cog) symbol, then select app updates.

Could you please open a command prompt as Administrator
    Code:
    cd c:\
    licensingdiag -report karen.xml -log karen.cab

Put the files Karen.xml and Karen.cab in to a zip file and upload them to the forum.
If you have trouble with the size of the zip file you might have to use MediaFire or OneDrive.

I updated the app and deleted all of my libraries. That seemed to repair the issues. If you still want the .cab and .xml files, let me know. I have them.

    No need if it's fixed.
By libraries are you meaning the locations where XBox music looks?
What happens when you add all your music back in?
