DOS programs

    I've been programming since the days of DOS and have a number of DOS programs that I use. I just got a new computer with Windows 8 and hoped to use them on the new system. Under Windows XP I was able to set up a pif file that allowed the use of these old programs. I searched on my Windows 8 for DOS and for pif and get nothing. Can I do something to use these programs?
