Does anyone know if Grand Theft Auto 4 or Crysis 2 will work in Windows 8 ? I do know that Microsoft Flight and The Elder Scolls V Skyrim both work. Thus Steam works for anyone wondering. I reformatted my partition that had Windows 8 CP on it, as I know the RC will be here early next month. I do know that Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 Ultra won't work, neither will any Cyberlink software. per Cyberlink support. That's disappointing as I just put a LiteON Blu-ray burner in my pc and that you need either Cyberlink, Corel or can't remember companies name software to play Blu-rays.

I think it might be better to wait a couple of weeks for a definitive answer to your question. Compatibility is, as I understand it, one of the major improvements ongoing for the Beta and RTM.

You're probably right. MS is taking Aero out of 8 too.

Crysis 2 works in Windows 8, so you should be ok with that :)

Yes I think they will as Windows 8's gaming platform will be similar to Windows 7.

You're probably right. Alot of it also has to do with game maker's coming out with updates to make their games compatible, too.

Thanks. I may now be banning Rockstar Games. Ever since the 1.0.6.0 and 1.07.0 updates the game can't find my activation. I can't use the Ballad of Gay Tony addon I purchased and wasted 12 hours each time downloading. I've uninstalled re-installed everything over 10 times now. Rockstar's support absolutely stinks. They request numerous screenshots. You send them to them, then they repeatedly change up and request even more screenshots. After almost 2 weeks of this and no help or solutions, I'm through with them. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, not even someone I don't like.

Even if not all the applications and games don`t work for now, Microsoft will definitely do something in the final release.

I think most games will be compatible with Windows 8 as game companies won't want to lose money, they'll update their games to make them compatible.

    That's what I think anyway.

So far I have yet to encounter a game that works in Windows 7 and does not work in Windows 8. So you (and everyone else) don't have to worry. :)

I think all those games should work unless they rely on something that's either Vista or Windows 7 native.

I know from experience that Crysis 2 (and 3) should be working seamless with Windows 8.

I can confirm that World of Warcraft definitely runs on Windows 8. Together with Game Booster I can get up to 70fps. That's pretty good considering that I am using an old laptop.

I can vouch that every GTA game except for the first one works on my windows 8 machine. I bought the GTA complete pack on steam a while back for $12 and I didn't regret taking the risk. I consider it one of the best transactions I have ever done.
