    Here is something, if you would prefer to work from your desktop without going back into the Metro windows.

    Right-click on desktop and select new , then shortcut

    Enter or paste this into the "Type location..etc" :

    %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{4234d49b-0245-4df3-b780-3893943456e1}

    Call it whatever you fancy (Dsktop metro ....?)

    When you double click the shortcut, you will have a window with all your start Metro icons - Just click and launch.

    Hi davehc,

    I don't quite understand what this does? Can you take a screenshot to show what you mean, or can I easily try it without breaking anything?

    It will not harm your OS. It puts a folder on your dektop with the metro screen icons (all "runnable"). Here is a small portion, as in entirety it is rather large.
