I just used the command " chkdsk.exe /f /r" and it asked me to restart the pc for the action to be completed. I did just that and , after 2 mins of working fine, i'm stuck at 11% done and the windows 8 loading logo just above running. What is happening?
PS: it is 20 mins since i restarted the PC.

I am not suggesting the following is the reason of "why". Just something from my personal experience of running check disk.

First, the system needs you to restart the computer in order to START the check disk. Not to COMPLETE the process.
As to 20 mins, depending on individual computer, it takes a lot longer than 20 min to finish disk check. Perhaps, make a cup of coffee and read a book or watch TV. Give the computer time.
    Good luck.
