Hi, my Mum got me a drive to put into my School laptop but we don't know how to set it as the primary drive... Please help me out, I am running Windows 8.1 and my laptop had 21 GB of storage! Windows took up most of the space! And so when ever I try to do stuff it doesn't work because it says "Sorry We Ran Out Of Memory And Cannot Run This" WHICH IS REALLY ANNOYING!!!! Please help me out because my Mum got this card so I could use this as my School laptop (If you need a Description here you go)

The card is blue, can be taken in and out, it goes in next to the head phone jack. I have a hp laptop running Windows 8.1.

I haven't found anyone to help me so I am here at my last resort, please help me out so I can do stuff on my laptop!

    Welcome to the forums :).

It sounds like you may have been bought an SD memory card, which can't replace the hard drive in a laptop. It can however, be used to offload documents, etc... on to. It isn't possible to make this become the primary C:.

You could try running "disk clean-up" - it's a Windows utility that will help you reclaim space on your system. That may help.

Also, your error about memory doesn't relate to the amount of disk space on your system. Here's some more info on that:

What are you trying to run when you get that error?
