    Hey guys!

I've been having a problem with Windows 8.1 recently. The audio has stopped working on my laptop since today and will not work completely. It said the "audio service is not running". I tried to fix it using the troubleshooter, it didn't work. Tried to restart the audio service, nope didn't work. Reinstalled the drivers, didn't work either.

The message I get when I try to start the service is

"Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer.

Error 0x800706cc: The endpoint is a duplicate."

    I don't know what to do. :(

    Please help!

    No guarantees.....

Assuming your statement above is accurate, do a system restore.
Pick a date PRIOR to "today" as your restore point.

On the topic of the issue. I did a bit of research before deciding to system restore and I came across someone having the same issue and that AVG 2015 put the corresponding files in the Virus Vault. I removed them from the Vault and removed AVG and the problem is resolved. Thanks for helping me @davidhk129 :)
