It's on my to do list.

The problem is that can break certain applications. It certainly is a good idea, but not for the general "Mum's and Dad's" yet.

    Couldn't resist or wait.
Went ahead and installed it (after first creating a system image) and so far so good.
No hangs, crashes or any sign of misbehavior. Just using default "Recommended security settings".

I figured if it can make IE almost bulletproof then it was worth a try.

I took the plunge to....so far so good...but I still have no clue what I'm doing with it. I too went with the recommended settings. I wish there was a video on/about it on how to use it.

THIS article seems to have found a way around EMET.

I haven't read it yet, but will do so today. (7 am here at the moment)

Well I uninstalled it from my system....it was killing my wifi.... right in half. I was getting 130 to 144 mbps....with it installed I was dropping to 65, 87 mbps....and my online pages went to a crawl. As soon as I uninstalled it...instantly it went right back up to the 130/144 mbps.

I am sure that it is a work in progress.
They already have a Preview of version 5.0
So I'll reserve judgement and wait and see how things progress.

Sounds very promising that's for sure :). Are you still running it?

May try installing it on my Surface Pro later on today and see how it runs.

edit: Couldn't help myself - installed on my desktop just now!

    Yes I am.
Still running Version 4.1.5228.513 set to Maximum security settings and haven't notice any systemic impact so far.
Haven't moved to the Preview Version 5 as sometimes it can be a problem uninstalling or upgrading from a preview version of a MS product when the General Availability Release becomes available.
Would be interested, if you decide to install it on your surface pro, if you experience the same impact to your wireless performance that Bassfisher mentioned above.

I've been running this for over a week now and I've got no complaints - performance seems the same as before in every respect and I've not had any crashes or hangs. I'm rolling it out to all of the other PCs today :).

I've been running EMET 5.0 GA for a few hours now, but it seems to have drastically slowed down IE11 during browsing - to the extent that I'm considering rolling back to 4.1! Has anyone else noticed this?

Any specific sites that I might be able to sample test for you??
Just uninstalled version 4.whatever and installed v5.0.5324.31804 and......
While I don't normally use IE at all, I did jump on it and Bing'd around for a bit and everything seemed to work reasonably snappy.

It seemed to do it on every site I visited unfortunately, it wasn't any worse on specific ones. I wonder if there's a conflict with my AV software (Kaspersky 2014) - I'll give it another go with the AV temporarily disabled and see if that makes a difference.

Was this a wireless connection or cat5 ethernet.
I remember Jim reporting some issues earlier regarding EMET and his wireless performance.

It was wired on this particular PC, although I did temporarily try the onboard wifi card and the problem persisted. 4.1 seems to be running well, so I'll stick with this for the time being and try 5.0 on another PC with a similar configuration instead :).
