Yeah still waiting, the spanner in the works was my XP machine dying prematurely and needing to get back online ASAP for work related stuff I cannot do on my Mac. So after getting XP PRO installed again and recovering my files I'm having a "bex and a little lie down" for a while.

That was by far the best post I have ever seen on these forums or W7 forums. Ever. May I put it in my signature?

No, that's not a good idea. Windows 8 is still in Beta. Windows 7 is a stable version. If your pc is in production mode, stay with Windows 7 and dual boot into Windows 8 to learn more about it. Of course, if your pc is a test machine, then go fully with Windows 8 and have fun.

Many people are still using Windows XP that I know of. Those who aren't are using Windows 7. I don't think there's anything to be ashamed of as long as you're not still using Vista or 2000.:p

If it does the job, why stress, unless you see it as an learning excercise.
I've even still got XP set up in dual boot though ages now since I last ran it.

I think for most people it's the headache of having to learn a whole new OS. You have to re-learn what to turn off to make it run faster, and download all new security updates. I think folks just don't have the time or patience. Especially when they release another new OS like 2 years later. Besides, Windows 7 offers an XP mode, so obviously, they had XP users in mind when they were designing it.
